From an author who will be one to watch for comes a mystical, adventure set in fifth century Ireland. The author works to infuse the story with the Gaelic words for the names of the God's, name places and magical weapons used by the female protagonist, Breanna. Lann Dan is also immersed with Gaelic, Celtic and Norse mythology and legend. The weaving of these ancient beliefs with the action of the heroine's story makes this novel otherworldly. The storyline moves quite smoothly, leading the reader through the pages quickly. There are no moments that lag causing the reader to lose interest. Each character is also well defined. There are no questions as to where a characters loyalties lie, but that does not mean that the characters are flat, without depth. Lann Dan is both a plot and character driven novel in equal measure. I received an advance review copy (ARC) for free, and I am voluntarily leaving my opinions of this novel. Thank you to the author, publisher and Goodreads for this opportunity. I am looking forward to reading the second installment of this series.
