The Tuatha Dé Danann | The Destiny Cycle

The Tuatha Dé Danann are a divine race from Irish mythology, known as the “People of the Goddess Danu,” who arrived in Ireland from the Otherworld bearing advanced arts, magic, and four sacred treasures: Dagda’s Cauldron, Lugh’s Spear, Nuada’s Sword, and the Stone of Destiny. After conquering the Fir Bolg and waging wars against the Fomorians, they withdrew into the sídhe (fairy mounds), becoming the aes sídhe—powerful, unseen beings bound to the land and its waters. In The Destiny Cycle, the Tuatha retain their full mythological history but are reimagined as active, often meddlesome divine actors who reemerge to influence the mortal world in response to the Norse invasion led by Hákon Skadi, the Dreadlord. This renewed intervention is guided by Danu, the Mother Goddess.
